Netflix Review: Abducted in Plain Sight

There is no other word than: Floored.

Several nights ago, I was looking for something to watch. I had been hearing about this documentary on Netflix called Abducted in Plain Sight, which was supposed to be absolutely insane.

I decided to give it a whirl and, as of today, 4 days have passed and I still can’t even come close to dealing with the insanity of this documentary.

Not long ago, I watched the Ted Bundy documentary. It was a 4 part story of 30+ brutal murders that Bundy committed over the course of a couple of years. This documentary, though, made Ted Bundy look like a saint.

The amount of craziness and stupidity that occurs in this story is mind boggling. I don’t want to spoil anything here, but this is the story of a girl who gets kidnapped TWICE, by the SAME guy…TWICE! And that’s not even close to the craziest part of the story.

The amount of terrible decisions made by so many people in this situation is astounding. I think back to being a kid, getting in trouble and then lying about it to try to get away with something. When my parents, inevitably, found out, it would spell worse trouble than had I just told them in the first place. It’s a simple life lesson that we all have to learn, right?

But this…this is the worst compounding of mistakes that I’ve ever witnessed. There were no less than 6 times in which I was screaming “WHAT THE HELL?!” at my TV. There were times when I looked at my wife and asked if this was actually a spoof.

This is a must watch for anybody. Your jaw will be on the floor. You will not be able to muster the words to describe how you feel about this whole thing. I can assure you one thing though, however. Your mind will be blown. Period.
